KAKE? este o formație bulgaro-engleză post-punk formată la Sofia în 2019. Cu energia lor brută, versurile care provoacă gândurile și ținutele îndrăznețe pentru scenă (bine ați venit, kimono-uri!), membrii trupei contestă normele și oferă o experiență muzicală puternică, nefiltrată.
KAKE? va urca pe scenă în Echoes pe 27 februarie, ca parte a celei de-a cincea ediții a SESAME (Set Sail to Music Export) Live Session. Acest proiect este dedicat susținerii și conectării artiștilor emergenti din Franța, România, Bulgaria, Ucraina, Moldova, Turcia și Georgia. Inițiativa este susținută de LiveMX și Institutul Francez din România și hrănește colaborarea dintre artiști prin tabere de compoziție și spectacole live.
Înaintea concertului din Echoes, KAKE? ne-a oferit un interviu. Te invit să-l citești și să descoperi mai multe despre această trupă post-punk.
InfoMusic: În ce fel se modifică expresia artistică atunci când mai multe minți creative lucrează împreună?
KAKE?: Fiecare minte este creativă. Când mai multe minți se unesc lucrând la o singură sarcină, putem avea un rezultat, dacă nu satisfăcător, cel puțin uman și onest. Și este distractiv!
InfoMusic: Cât de importantă este autenticitatea în muzica de astăzi, când multe dintre piesele care ajung să aibă succes par să fie o copie sau o reinterpretare a muzicii care a avut succes în trecut?
KAKE?: În științele bazate pe Logos (Cuvânt), citarea și lucrul cu gândul altora este de la sine înțeleasă. Este autentic să-ți susții teza cu gândurile exprimate de cineva înaintea ta. Este de prost gust să folosești ideea altcuiva fără a fi interesat de contextul în care ea a fost rostită. Întrebarea este: citezi pentru că nu ai nimic de spus, sau citezi pentru că ai ceva de spus?
InfoMusic: Cum poți atinge inimile oamenilor prin muzică?
KAKE?: Onestitate, jovialitate, nonconformism.
InfoMusic: Cum poate un artist debutant să evolueze și să-și găsească făgașul în muzică?
KAKE?: El sau ea trebuie să fie o persoană cinstită și ar trebui să urmărească fericirea personală și să nu pună niciodată ambițiile profesionale peste fericirea familiei și trebuie neapărat să savureze fericirea - acest lucru este și mai important. Dar cel mai important este arhi-nemesisul nostru - practica!
InfoMusic: Poate muzica să reflecte starea de spirit a unei generații? Și dacă da, care crezi că este starea de spirit a generațiilor Z și Alpha?
KAKE?: Diferențele dintre generații au existat de la începutul istoriei omenirii. Stările de spirit sunt diferite. Noi prețuim empatia.
InfoMusic: Poate muzica să vindece inimi frânte?
KAKE?: Poate să facă o mulțime de lucruri. Este un mediu. Creatorul uman deține puterea. Trupa noastră are o putere limitată, așa că nu suntem atât de periculoși. Sexy, pe de altă parte, suntem.
InfoMusic: De unde vine muzica?
KAKE?: Am consultat arheologi de top, antropologi și istorici. Muzica este prima limbă, înaintea limbilor vorbite, înaintea limbilor scrise. Începutul muzicii coincide probabil cu începutul umanității. KAKE? cutreieră această lume străveche a umbrelor, ca veganii noaptea, dar nu prea știm ce facem.
InfoMusic: Când poți spune că un artist debutant a devenit unul consacrat?
KAKE?: E mult dincolo de momentul de popularitate - cele 15 minute de faimă. Se întâmplă mult mai târziu. Nu doar cronologic, ci și mental. Dacă cineva citește asta - răspunsul la întrebarea numărul 8 este "nu acum, nu încă".
InfoMusic: Cum te simți atunci când interpretezi o piesă nouă în fața publicului?
KAKE?: Suntem încântați să împărtășim, dar simțim și apăsare. Partea faină este că oamenii vor să audă piese vechi și familiare. Acest lucru ne scutește de mult efort și multe griji.
InfoMusic: De ce avem nevoie de muzică în viața noastră?
KAKE?: Am discutat deja despre zorii muzicii. Dacă oamenii își doresc să se bucure de viață, trebuie să adauge muzică în ea. Muzica noastră, de exemplu, este accesibilă, ieftină și simplistă. De asemenea, pielea de găină este un efect secundar plăcut.

Originality in music, as in any art, is always a hot and controversial topic. From KAKE?, a Bulgarian-English post-punk band from Sofia, we learned to ask the right question to understand where inspiration ends and plagiarism begins. Also from KAKE? I learned how difficult it is to become an established artist and how attractive a sense of humor can be. I invite you to discover who is KAKE?, one of the 10 participants in the SESAME (Set Sail to Music Export) project.

KAKE? will go on stage in Echoes on the 27th of February, as part of the 5th edition of SESAME (Set Sail to Music Export) Live Session. The initiative is supported by LiveMX and the French Institute in Romania and nurtures collaboration through songwriting camps and live performances, offering a platform for artists to create, learn, and showcase their work to new audiences.

InfoMusic: In what ways does artistic expression change when more creative minds work together?
KAKE?: Every mind is creative. When more than one mind join together working on a single task, we can have a result, if not satisfactory, at least humane and honest. And it's fun!
InfoMusic: How important is authenticity in music these days when most of the songs that gather attention seem to be a copy or a reinterpretation of what was successful in the past?
KAKE?: In the sciences based on the Logos, quoting and working with the thought of others is standard. It is authentic to defend your thesis with the thoughts of someone before you. It is bad taste to use someone else's idea without being interested in its context. The question is - do you quote because you have nothing to say, or you quote because you have something to say?
InfoMusic: How can you reach people's hearts through music?
KAKE?: Honesty, monkey charm, horse beauty.
InfoMusic: How can a new artist grow and become more articulate in his music?
KAKE?: He or she must be an honest person and should chase personal happiness and would never put professional ambitions over family happiness, and must enjoy happiness - this is more important. But most important is our Arch-nemesis - practice!
InfoMusic: Is music capable of reflecting the state of mind of a generation? And if so, what do you think is the state of mind of generation Z and Alpha?
KAKE?: The generation gap is something we've had since the beginning of human history. The states of minds are different. We care about empathy.
InfoMusic: Can music heal broken hearts?
KAKE?: It can do a lot of things. It is a medium. The human creator has the power. Our band has limited power, so we are not so dangerous. Sexy - yes.
InfoMusic: Where does music come from?
KAKE?: We consulted leading archaeologists, anthropologists, and historians. Music is the first language, before spoken languages, before written languages. The beginning of music probably coincides with the beginning of humanity. KAKE? roams this ancient world of shadows, like vegans in the night, but we don't quite know what we're doing.
InfoMusic: When does a new artist become an established one?
KAKE?: It's way past the popular point -the 15 minutes of fame. It is way after that. Not only chronologically but also mentally. If somebody is reading this - the answer to Q8 is "not now, not yet".
InfoMusic: How do you feel when you play a new song for the first time in front of an audience?
KAKE?: We are excited to share, but we also feel terror. The cool thing is that people want to hear old and familiar pieces. This saves us a lot of effort and worry.
InfoMusic: Why do we need music in our lives?
KAKE?: We've already discussed the dawn of music. If people want life, they have to add music to it. Ours, for example, is accessible, cheap, and simple. Also, goosebumps are a pleasant side effect.
